Mandatory retirement is a company policy that requires employees to retire at a certain age. With mandatory retirement in place many companies with mandatory retirement lose important, experienced portions of their teams when experienced, productive employees are forced to leave. Whereas young individuals might provide quicker services, a new perspective, ideas and approach for the business plan based on the interest of the generation. How does a company rebuild a foundation for elderly customers when the more tenured employees of a company are being forced out? Based on my understanding elders are most likely to be receptive and trusting to familiar faces. So, if these elder business members should refuse their services of a company because of a lack of trust between the establishment and the elderly. How does that company continue to provide jobs and wages for its employees? Elderly persons are very routine and are used to their transactions being taken care of in an orderly fashion and familiar routine. To shift this balance between familiar faces of the business and regular customers of the business might be devasting to the employer in the long run as the business would be losing its core (tenured employees). Although the ideas and services of the younger generation might be efficient to the business, to break the pattern with the elders in your company might be detrimental. As retirement for these individuals might become mandatory because of a lack of employment positions in the job sector for years. As mentioned earlier these individuals who are being forced to retire on a mandatory basis, are very used to a strict pattern as to how to proceed with their days. If being in the workforce for many decades was their best way of maintaining order, physical stability, and mental awareness. Removing the foundation of pattern might be detrimental as their world might become chaotic because of their independence being snatched from right under their nose. Not all elderly persons are incompetent of doing their jobs and many are just as sufficient as the young employers. Snatching their livelihood and independence away might be among the top factors that lead these persons to physical deterioration, mental and emotional depression or even their graveside. So, before removing these individuals from the workforce entirely. Grant them the opportunity of fewer labor hours and less strenuous positions to find the balance between the workforce and life after retirement. To be more comfortable in their own skin to know that there can be a happy and healthy life after you have accomplished all they can during their active years. In doing this they are being allowed to face the reality of retirement and the amount of free time it comes with at their own pace. Rather than having their employers through them into it head-on with no mental, physical or emotional preparation because of the mandatory workplace policy. This will allow them to the dependence of saying I walked away from my job with the respect and dignity of retiring on my own time.

Political Views
Upon completing the Political Compass and 8 Values Results, I realized that my political views were sway between being a left leaning authoritarian for the Political Compass and a libertarian from the results on the 8 Values Results. The 8 Valves Results, showed my economic axis percentages to be centered with 54.5% being equality and 45.5% being markets; diplomatic axis being balanced with nation and world averaging 42.2% and 57.8% respectively; civil axis had a moderate result with liberty and authority being 52.8% and 47.2% respectively; while societal axis was neutral with a 56.2% going towards progress. The results from the that of 8 Valves are more accurate than that of the Political Compass because I would think of myself more liberal than authoritative. According to the Political Typology Quiz are opportunity democrats and fits in with 12% of the general population. My results were neutral compared to my expectation as I am a strong believer in political freedom. I think everyone should be given the opportunity exercise their rights freely, without being seen through the spectrum of color, gender inequality or political differences. After seeing the results of the Political Compass I was a bit unsure of what left leaning authoritarian meant and based on my research it suggested that I was a communist. So, no, I was not surprised at the results. My views are confirmed because I do stand by the instance of a fair days work deserving a fair days pay, I do think that people should be able to express their political views without being judged or look down on.
Journal Entry 1
Ages 2-4 is the point of a child’s life where their basic motor developmental skills start to occur. Throughout this time frame, many children learn the task of walking, talking, potty training, how to feed themselves, understand the difference between right and wrong and most even start to attend pre-school. So, why shouldn’t they also learn how to fend for themselves at this age? A mother lion basically starts to teach her cub how to hunt at 3 months old. So, ages 5-6 seems like a pretty reasonable age for our children to get an experience of the work force. Just as they are able to comprehend the difference between what is right and wrong, it should also be easy to grasp the concept of being on time for your job or being unemployed. Learning the essence of time and working for their own money at this tender age will allow habits such as appreciation, care and conservation to become second nature. Also being exposed this early, allows for our children to be responsible in case their parent(s) should fall upon hard times, they wouldn’t have to worried about what the outcome would be for their child/children. As they are financially stable and will be able to take charge of their household until their parents are back on their feet. With our kids being the breadwinner of the family, parents are now able to enter early retirement or even use their weekends to enjoy play dates with other parents in the vicinity.
